MYRNA is coming through the desert carrying a huge suitcase. She can hardly manage it. She enters the "apartment" with WES and KAREN sitting on the opposite ends of the bed. She walks to KAREN and kisses her.
MYRNA: I've told you! It happens when you marry a guy in a hurry.
She starts to pack Karen's clothes, putting them into the suitcase she's brought.
MYRNA: (cont.) Look at Jim Sadler, how he treats his wife. He bought her a cabriolet that matches her hair. She looks gorgeous in it. Their kids are adorable... He was so much in love with you! Why? He was too tall for you. (ironic) You didn't like his voice... and now you're paying for it. You've had to make the same mistake I did. You have to be careful choosing whom to marry. Your father's almost killed me before he died. I'm a different woman now. (with smile) I'm free. And so happy.
She goes to the "kitchen" area and starts to pack things lying around.
MYRNA: (cont.) It's hard to be alone. But it's still better to take care for yourself than to feeding, protecting and nursing a monster. I didn't deserve it and I won't allow that to happen to you. A man should be a man and respect his wife. You cannot live without respect.
She closes the suitcase.
MYRNA: (cont.) Honey, it's time.
MYRNA and KAREN leave. WES looks after them for a while still
sitting on the bed, than he stands up and takes few steps as if
he wanted to follow the women.
WES: Karen!
They don't turn back and walk away toward the horizon. WES observes them playing with his golf-club. Then he turns back to the bed.
WES is sitting on the bed the golf-club still in his hands, he rocks forth and back with bowed head. After a while he looks up to the sky and yells: I'm SORRY!!! Than he lies down hugging the golf-club in his arms. Fade out.
